Who am I?

My name is Majbrit Thrane, and I am a soloist/musician from Denmark. I play guitar and I sing.

From the time I was quite young, I loved music and sang a lot, I am an autodidact in the field, pertaining to both playing and vocals. I learned to play the guitar at 15 years of age, as I was crazy about a German band and was keen on learning how to play their songs.

I have been writing lyrics as long as I can remember, but I was 17 when I first applied music and lyric to one another in a full-fledged song. Quite quickly I ended up playing in diverse settings, beginning with covers, but quickly moved on to implementing my own songs into the set list and developing into playing some concerts exclusively consisting of my own songs.

I have played for both small and large audiences, with the largest numbering 3000 people. Arrangements I have performed for include: Birthdays, Weddings, Receptions, Charity concerts and Festivals & opening for up-and-coming artists.

My musical resumé also boasts opening for a great many Danish artists such as: Poul Krebs, Michelle Birkballe, Søs Fenger and Mads Langer.

One of the highlights of my musical career so far has been winning a competition with "Nephew". The song was performed in the Scandinavian Congress Center (Aarhus) on October 4, 2013. Recently, I have been a participant in the international competition "Emergenza", for up-and-coming artists, where I, as the only female soloist contestant, made it to the finals for Denmark. I performed exclusively with my own compositions. The songs I write are primarily in Danish, but I also write some songs in German and English.
